Ser Gilbert Farring is a knight of House Farring. His son is Bryen Farring, a young squire of Stannis Baratheon. He is the cousin of Ser Godry Farring.[1]

Recent Events
A Storm of Swords
King Stannis Baratheon tells Davos Seaworth that Ser Gilbert is one of the few men who remained loyal to him after his loss at the Blackwater. Gilbert still holds Storm's End for Stannis, commanding a garrison of two hundred men.[2]
A Feast for Crows
Gilbert continues to hold Storm's End as its castellan for Stannis, with Lord Elwood Meadows as his second in command and Maester Jurne as his counselor and healer.[3]
While Stannis is in the north, an army from the Reach under Lord Mace Tyrell and Lord Mathis Rowan besiege Storm's End.[4][5] After taking Griffin's Roost, Jon Connington and Aegon Targaryen with the Golden Company plan to attack Storm's End next.[6]

Haldon Halfmaester informs Arianne Martell that the Golden Company has taken Storm's End, and that Lord Mace Tyrell's army is descending on the castle from King's Landing.[7]
