Grief is a ironborn longship and a member of the Iron Fleet. Her captain is Rodrik Sparr. Her sails are black.

Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

She was among the ships that made the voyage to the kingsmoot. During the kingsmoot Lord Captain Victarion Greyjoy ordered the Grief and the Iron Vengeance to lie between the Silence and the open sea.[1] After the Battle of the Shield Islands, Lord Victarion kept it, the Lord Dagon, the Iron Wind and the Maiden's Bane as part of his rearguard, commanding from his own ship the Iron Victory.[2]

A Dance with Dragons

Grief is the 54th and last Ironborn ship to find her way to the Isle of Cedars to regroup on their way to Essos. She rescued Moqorro and presents him to fleet Captain Victarion Greyjoy.[3]
