Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Ser Guyard was part of King Renly's army encamped beneath Bitterbridge and a member of the Rainbow Guard, Renly's version of the Kingsguard.[1] After the parley between the brothers Renly and Stannis Baratheon beneath the walls of Storm's End, Guyard asked for command of the vanguard in the imminent battle between the brothers forces, but was passed over in favor of Loras Tyrell.[2] When Renly was murdered within his tent before the battle, he was not present.[3]

After Renly's death, Ser Guyard went over to Stannis. He was present beneath the walls of Storm's End for the parley with Ser Cortnay Penrose.[4] When Stannis' army approached King's Landing, Ser Guyard was given command of the vanguard.[5] During the Battle of the Blackwater, Ser Guyard was slain by Renly's ghost, who was actually Garlan Tyrell in Renly's armor.[6]
