Hard as Oak is an account of Lord Alyn Velaryon's life written by Ser Russell Stillman, who squired for Lord Alyn during his youth. According to Hard as Oak, Lord Alyn refused the sexual advances made by Princess Aliandra Martell, which Bastard Born refuted.[1]

Archmaester Gyldayn considers this account to be colorful, but unreliable.[1]
