A Dance with Dragons
During the reopening of the fighting pits after the fight between Barsena Blackhair and a boar in Daznak's Pit, Drogon appears and begins eating the corpses of the pit fighter and the boar that killed her. Harghaz[2] attacks Drogon for reasons unknown; Daenerys Targaryen conjectures that Harghaz loves Barsena, wants vengeance for Hazzea, or simply wants glory. Harghaz wounds Drogon and almost succeeds in killing him, but is set aflame by the black dragon when he leaves Daznak's Pit with Daenerys.[3]
To the Yunkai'i and Meereenese who oppose the rule of Daenerys, the would-be dragonslayer is remembered as "Harghaz the Hero".[1][2]
Quotes about Harghaz
Quentyn: His name was Harghaz.
Archibald: Hizdahr, Humzum, Hagnag, what does it matter? I call them all Harzoo. He was no dragonslayer. All he did was get his arse roasted black and crispy.
Quentyn: He was brave.[4]
