The High Septon was High Septon of the Faith of the Seven during the reign of kings Maekar I and Aegon V Targaryen.[1]
History
As the succession of King Maekar was not clear at the time of his death in 233 AC, his Hand, Lord Brynden Rivers, called a Great Council to choose the new king. Many lords supported Maekar's eldest living son, Aemon, despite him being a Maester. The High Septon offered to absolve him from his vows but Aemon declined. Aemon's younger brother was chosen instead and ruled as Aegon V Targaryen.[1]
