High Septon (brother of Donnel Hightower)

The High Septon was a younger brother of Lord Donnel Hightower, who was elected to the office during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. His birth name has not been mentioned. After becoming High Septon, he abandoned his name as is custom for High Septons once elected to the office.[1]
History
After the passing of the High Septon known as the "High Lickspittle" in 54 AC, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen traveled to Oldtown, hoping to influence the election of the next High Septon. It was their wish that the High Lickspittle's successor would be a supporter of the Doctrine of Exceptionalism. To this end, Jaehaerys met with Lord Donnel Hightower, whose agents were present in the Starry Sept at the election of the new High Septon. Donnel wished for either his younger brother, a nephew, or a cousin, who all were members of the Most Devout, to be elected to the office. However, as none of them had yet spoken in favor of the Doctrine, Jaehaerys and Donnel eventually reached an understanding which resulted in the election of Septon Alfyn to the office. Jaehaerys assured Donnel that after Alfyn's passing, Donnel's kin would succeed to the crystal crown. When Alfyn eventually died, Donnel's brother was elected High Septon in his stead.[1]
