Hobber is homely with orange hair and a square, freckled face.[3]
History
When Samwell Tarly was sent to the Arbor to become a page, Ser Hobber and Ser Horas teased and humiliated him.[4]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Ser Hobber takes part in the Hand's tourney in King's Landing.[5] He remains in King's Landing after the death of King Robert I Baratheon.[6]
A Clash of Kings
The Iron Throne keeps the Redwyne twins as hostages for the good behavior of their father, Lord Paxter Redwyne, during the War of the Five Kings. The youth is unhorsed in the tourney on King Joffrey's name day by Ser Meryn Trant after breaking their first lances.[7] Hobber and his brother, Ser Horas, attempt to sneak out of King's Landing via the Moonrunner, but the plot is discovered and halted by Varys and Tyrion Lannister.[8]
Paxter refrains from joining his forces to that of Renly Baratheon. After Renly's death, Hobber is allowed to accompany Lord Petyr Baelish on his mission to recruit House Tyrell at Bitterbridge while Horas remains in captivity.[9] This show of good faith allows Paxter to ride with the Tyrell host to defend the capital during the Battle of the Blackwater.[10]
A Storm of Swords
Sansa Stark notices one of the Redwyne twins sparring with Ser Tallad the Tall.[11]
Ser Hobber attends the wedding of Margaery Tyrell and King Joffrey I Baratheon. Hobber is called as a witness for the prosecution in the trial of Tyrion for the death of Joffrey. He tells of how he saw Tyrion fill the wedding chalice.[12]
A Feast for Crows
Hobber, Horas, and their father Paxter attend the funeral of Lord Tywin Lannister.[13] The twins are both said to fall in love with Margaery Tyrell, forgetting their arguments over who would be the next Lord of the Arbor and instead wanting to join the Kingsguard just to be near her.[14] Hobber and Horas visit with Queen Margaery often, with Hobber bringing fruit and flowers and Horas taking up the lute.[15] Queen Regent Cersei Lannister has an arrest warrant signed for both Hobber and Horas as part of her plans to remove Margaery. He is given comfortable rooms after his arrest.[16]
A Dance with Dragons
The Redwyne twins are declared innocent.[17]
