Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

After Bran's fall, he needed a way to move about the castle. Maester Luwin designed a basket that could be strapped to Hodor's back in which Bran could be placed. However, Hodor, being a simpleton, sometimes forgot that Bran was in the basket, which caused Bran moments of pain.[6]

A Clash of Kings

After Theon Greyjoy takes Winterfell, Hodor hides in the crypts along with Osha, Bran, Rickon, Meera Reed and Jojen Reed, faking their escape out of the castle. They eventually leave the crypts only to find the castle destroyed. After speaking to the dying Maester Luwin, it is decided that Bran and Rickon should be split up. Hodor goes with Bran, Jojen and Meera north to the Wall.[7]

A Storm of Swords

Hodor accompanies Bran Stark, Meera Reed and Jojen Reed north to find the three-eyed crow.

A Dance with Dragons

After encountering Coldhands at the Wall, Hodor, Bran, Meera and Jojen accompany him north of the Wall, traveling a great distance. He is used to Bran warging into him, though he still feels fear when he does it.[8]
