- When news reached the Twins of the rape of Saltpans, Ser Arwood Frey and Ser Donnel and Ser Harys Haigh took a small force to investigate. There they found the town in ruins and Ser Quincy locked within his castle. He had not come out to help the citizens during the sack.
- Septon Meribald defends Ser Quincy by saying that his sons and good-sons are dead or off fighting, his grandsons are still too young and he has two daughters. He had nothing to face the outlaws with.
