When news reaches the Twins of the raid on Saltpans, Ser Arwood Frey, Ser Donnel Haigh, and Ser Harys Haigh take a small force to investigate. They find the town in ruins and Ser Quincy Cox locked within his castle. He did not come out to help the smallfolk during the sack.
At the Quiet Isle, Septon Meribald defends Quincy by saying that his sons and good-sons are dead or off fighting, his grandsons are still too young, and he has two daughters. He had nothing to face the outlaws with.
