House Lothston is an extinct house of the Riverlands. They held Harrenhal until 3 or 4 generation before the events in the books and were a powerful House. In A Clash of Kings Gendry says that the current smith of Harrenhal, Ben Blackthumb had worked as a boy for Lord Lothston (and for the grandfather and father of Lady Whent [1].

The Lothstons always had a bad reputation. According to Ser Osgrey Manfryd Lothston betrayed Daemon Blackfyre [2] and an unknown Lady Lothston is said to have bathed in blood [3].


The last Lothston was killed with the help of an ancestor of Ser Illifer the Penniless in unknown circumstances. After the line ended the lordship of Harrenhal was given to House Whent
