A Game of Thrones
A new-made knight, Ser Hugh stayed in King's Landing after Jon's death and his wife's return to the Vale.[3] During his investigation into Lord Arryn's death, Eddard Stark sent his captain of guards Jory Cassel to ask Hugh some questions; Ser Hugh did not deign to speak with Jory since he was not a knight. He took part in the Tourney of the Hand, where he went up against Ser Gregor Clegane. Ser Gregor's lance rode up and drove through his throat, killing him instantly.[1] His remains were prepared and sent back to the Vale to his mother.[2]
A Clash of Kings
Grand Maester Pycelle believed him to be the poisoner of Lord Jon.[4]
