A Game of Thrones
Jafer is a member of the ranging party led by Benjen Stark to discover what happened to Ser Waymar Royce. His corpse is found in the haunted forest by Jon Snow when he says his vows beneath the weirwoods. Upon inspection, his death had been caused by an axe blow to the neck.[1] Jafer is resurrected as a wight at Castle Black, attacking the living members of the Night's Watch. It is cut to pieces, but not before it kills Ser Jaremy Rykker.
