Jeyne Heddle, called Long Jeyne for her height,[2] is a descendant of House Heddle. She has a younger sister, Willow.[3] According to the Elder Brother, the sisters are nieces of Masha Heddle, the innkeep of the inn at the crossroads. According to a semi-canon source, Masha is their great-aunt.[2]

Appearance and Character

Jeyne is tall and thin, plain, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is hardened and suspicious.[4]

Masha Heddle is hanged by Lord Tywin Lannister at the inn at the crossroads.[5]

A Feast for Crows

Masha's nephew runs the inn as a brothel, but he is eventually slain.[3] According to a semi-canon source, he was the father of Jeyne and Willow.[2] The sisters reopen the inn for business and as a refuge for orphan children.[3]

Jeyne is away with the brotherhood without banners when Brienne of Tarth's party arrives at the crossroads inn.[3] After the encounter with the remnants of the Brave Companions at the inn, Jeyne takes care of Brienne, who is severely injured after the battle, dressing her wounds and splinting her broken arm. She helps bring Brienne and her companions, Podrick Payne and Ser Hyle Hunt, to a cave to meet with Lady Stoneheart.[4]
