Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Catelyn Tully claimed that Lord Jonos was one of her father's oldest and most loyal bannermen.[1] After the siege of Riverrun was broken, Lord Jonos returned from Stone Hedge. At Robb's war council, he suggests allying with King Renly against Joffrey and the Lannisters, and agrees with Tytos Blackwood in denying Catelyn's suggestion of peace stating...

"Gregor Clegane laid waste to my fields, slaughtered my smallfolk, and left Stone Hedge a smoking ruin. Am I now to bend the knee to the ones who sent him? What have we fought for, if we are to put all back as it was before."[2]

A Clash of Kings

Gerry O'Brien as Jonos Bracken in the TV series

Lord Jonos left Riverrun with the intent of rebuilding his castle, Stone Hedge, which had been burnt and destroyed by Lannister forces. He was wounded in the retaking of Stone Hedge and his nephew, Hendry, slain.[3]

A Storm of Swords

Jonos took part in the launching of Lord Hoster Tully's funeral boat with six other nobles.[4] After the Red Wedding, Lord Jonos bends his knee to Tywin Lannister and was pardoned for his part in the war by the Iron Throne.[5]

A Feast for Crows

Lord Jonos besieged Raventree Hall. Lord Karyl Vance implored Ser Jaime Lannister to intervene, knowing that Lord Tytos Blackwood would never surrender to Lord Jonos.[6]

A Dance with Dragons

Jaime Lannister arrives to end the siege, he finds Jonos Bracken abed with a woman named Hildy. Jonos hands Jaime Lannister a map stating the lands he wants back for subduing Tytos Blackwood along with compensation for the damage Gregor Clegane did to his land. The lands include Battle Valley.[7] Jaime states he didn't actually subdue Lord Tytos and points that letting him keep his head seems recompense enough for the damage caused by the Mountain. Jonos also recommends Jaime take Blackwoods only daughter as his hostage (Jonos suggested her because he knows how much it would hurt his rival Blackwood to part with his only daughter who he dotes on), Jaime was aware of this however and accepted Hoster Blackwood as a hostage from Blackwood instead. After the surrender of Tytos Blackwood, Jaime gives Jonos a smaller portion of Raventree land as his "reward" for partly subduing him before asking him to send one of his five daughters to King's Landing as a hostage, this angers Jonos.[7]
