A Storm of Swords

As part of the pact between Lord Tywin Lannister and Lord Walder Frey concerning the betrayal of Robb Stark, Joy was to wed a natural son of Lord Walder.[4]

A Feast for Crows

As part of the deal with Sybell Spicer, Lord Tywin had promised Joy to marry Ser Raynald Westerling, Sybell's eldest son. Sybell was not happy at finding out who Lord Tywin had meant when she had been promised a bride from Casterly Rock.[3] However, she had also been promised to one of Walder Frey's natural sons as part of the alliance that led to the Red Wedding.[4]
