King of Qarth (or Queen of Qarth) was the title held by the ruler of the city of Qarth in a distant past.[1]. At some point in their history, however, the Qartheen monarchy was replaced by a council of oligarchs known as the Pureborn, which boast descent from Qarth's ancient monarchs.[1]
