King of the Trident is a title used by some kings from the riverlands. It refers to the great river of the kingdom, the Trident. King of the Rivers and the Hills was also used by some river kings.

Numerous houses ruled as river kings prior to the Andal invasion, including Houses Mudd, Fisher, Blackwood, and Bracken. After the Andals divided the riverlands amongst themselves, many petty lords named themselves King of the Trident or King of the Rivers and the Hills. Lord Torrence Teague was eventually crowned King of the Trident at Maidenpool. The Teagues were eventually extinguished in the Battle of Six Kings, however, and the riverlands passed first to the Storm Kings from House Durrandon and then the Kings of the Isles and the Rivers from House Hoare.[1]
