Lady Frey was a member of House Frey, the daughter of Lord Frey of the Crossing, elder sister to Walder Frey, niece to Ser Franklyn Frey, and cousin to Ser Addam Frey. When she was fifteen, she married Lord Ambrose Butterwell at Whitewalls in 212 AC, becoming his second wife.[1]

History

It was rumored that she was married off after her young brother caught her having intimate relations with a servant, a scullion at the Twins. The story was told that they were found in the kitchens on the marble slab where dough is rolled out, both naked and covered in flour. At the wedding's bedding, Ser Duncan the Tall was volunteered to carry her upstairs to the bedchamber. Men made ribald jokes about "flouring her up and kneading her well" while they disrobed her.[1]

During the tourney thrown to celebrate the marriage, she fainted when her cousin Ser Addam Frey was unhorsed by Ser Uthor Underleaf.[1]

Quotes

Was there any flour on her teats when you got the smallclothes off her?[1]

Lady Butterwell, the maiden brick, my darling daughter. May the Mother make her fertile. I shall want a grandson before the year is out. Twins would suit me even better, so churn the butter well tonight, my sweet.[1]
