Title Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
Allegiances
Book A Game of Thrones (mentioned)

Lord Commander Hoare was a member of House Hoare and was the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch during the War of Conquest. His given name has not been revealed. He was a son of King Halleck Hoare and brother to King Harren Hoare.

History

Lord Commander Hoare led the Night's Watch when Aegon the Conquerer invaded Westeros with his dragons. The Lord Commander's brother was King Harren the Black, King of the Isles and the Rivers. Although Lord Commander Hoare commanded ten thousand swords at the Wall, he remained loyal to the Watch and did not intervene when Harren and his sons were slain by the Targaryen dragons at Harrenhal.[1]
