In the television adaptation House of the Dragon, he is portrayed by Paul Clayton.
History
At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Merryweather was arrested and put in the Red Keep's dungeons by Aegon II Targaryen's supporters for supporting his half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. When given the choice between swearing his allegiance to Aegon II or being killed by the King's Justice, Lord Merryweather was one of the nobles who chose to keep their sworn words and were beheaded for it. Their heads were mounted on spikes above the city’s gates.[1]
His House, now led by Lady Merryweather, followed his example and continued to support Rhaenyra during the war.[2]
Family
It is unknown how Lord Merryweather is related to his contemporary relatives: Lady Merryweather, Jeyne Merryweather and Lord Marq Merryweather.
