Lord of Castamere is a hereditary title held by the ruler of the castle of Castamere, in the northwest of the westerlands.

History

The Reynes of Castamere submitted to House Lannister during the Age of Heroes when Loreon I Lannister, the first King of the Rock, married a Reyne daughter.[1] The title of Lord of Castamere became vacant when Ser Tywin Lannister destroyed the Reynes and their castle during the Reyne-Tarbeck revolt.[2]

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

The title remains vacant until the War of the Five Kings. For his role in the downfall of Robb Stark, King in the North, at the Red Wedding, Ser Rolph Spicer is named Lord of Castamere by the Iron Throne.[3]
