Lord of the Rainwood is a title devised by Stannis Baratheon and granted by him to Ser Davos Seaworth, along with that of Admiral of the Narrow Sea, when he names the former smuggler as his Hand of the King, thus promoting him from a mere landed knight to a high lord on par with the rest of the stormlords.[1][2] Davos takes pride in knowing that his son Devan Seaworth will one day be Lord of the Rainwood, more pride than for holding the title himself.[3]

It is not mentioned if this title makes Davos the liege lord of the noble houses established on the Rainwood - as, for example, the Lord of the Marches is not the liege lord of the rest of marcher lords.
