Appearance
Lynesse is very beautiful. She has golden hair, skin the color of cream, and soft hands. [2] When Ser Jorah first beheld her he thought she was a goddess come to earth, the Maid herself made flesh. She looks a bit like Daenerys.
History
At the Tourney at Lannisport she met her future husband, Ser Jorah Mormont. He crowned her the Queen of Love and Beauty after winning the tourney and asked for her hand in marriage. They married shortly thereafter in Lannisport.
Although they had married for love, the marriage did not remain happy for long. Having grown up in a prosperous household in the mild, fertile and densely populated Reach, Lynesse was completely unprepared for the harsh and spartan nature of life in the North, and quickly became miserable. Jorah attempted to reproduce the luxurious lifestyle his wife was accustomed to by lavishing her with expensive gifts, but quickly drove himself into financial ruin. In desperation, he began looking to less savory ways of paying off his debts, attempting to raise money by selling some convicted poachers to a Tyroshi slaver.
Learning that one of his bannermen had engaged in the slave trade, Lord Eddard Stark declared Ser Jorah's life forfeit. Jorah and Lynesse successfully escaped to Lys, but with the relationship already severely strained by their exile and Jorah still unable to afford the lifestyle his wife desired, she finally left him.
Lynesse moved into the manse of a merchant prince, Tregar Ormollen, and is now his chief concubine and even his wife goes in fear of her. [3]

Dacey Mormont adds that she had hair like spun gold and skin like cream. But her soft hands were never made for axes.
Catelyn knows of whom they are speaking about. She thinks to herself that Jorah Mormont had brought his second wife to Winterfell for feasts, and once they had guested for a fortnight. She remembers how young the Lady Lynesse had been, how fair, how unhappy. One night, after several cups of wine, she had confessed to Catelyn that the north was no place for a Hightower of Oldtown. [4]
A Feast for Crows
When Ser Humfrey Hightower sailed to Lys to hire sellsails to help fight off the ironborn attack on the Reach, it was a commonly held hope that Lynesse would help him get the best possible fleet.[5]
