Ser Orryn Baratheon was a knight from House Baratheon and a younger brother of Lord Rogar Baratheon of Storm's End.[1]

History

When Orryn's older brother, Lord Rogar Baratheon, was Hand of the King, he wanted to betroth Orryn to Princess Alysanne Targaryen.[1]

Orryn, when Rogar was dismissed as Hand returned to Storm's End along with his brothers, Ser Borys, Ser Garon, and Ser Ronnal.[3]

In 50 AC Orryn arrived at the motherhouse attached to the Starry Sept in Oldtown demanding Princess Rhaella, a novice of the Faith, be given into his custody. However, the Faith refused, and Orryn and his men-at-arms were instead captured by thirty armed septons led by the High Septon's steward, Casper Straw. Orryn was questioned and confessed to a plot: he was to bring Rhaella to Storm's End, where Rogar planned to have her confess that she was really her older twin sister, Princess Aerea, and then he meant to name her queen. For this, Lord Donnel Hightower imprisoned Orryn. When he came of age, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen decided to be merciful and pardoned Lord Rogar for his plots. Orryn was also pardoned by the king, but was exiled to Essos for ten years.[2]

Orryn and the dozen men who had accompanied him to Oldtown traveled to the Free City of Tyrosh and went into the service of its Archon. Within a year Orryn married the Archon's buxom blue-green haired maiden daughter, who his brother Rogar had once hoped to wed to King Jaehaerys. Orryn had a daughter by her, but there were doubts if he was her true father, as his wife was known to be free with her favor. When the Archon's term ended Orryn left Tyrosh for Myr and joined the Maiden's Men. He was slain soon after in the Disputed Lands in a battle against the Men of Valor. Nothing is known of the fate of his wife and daughter.[2]
