Ossifer Plumm was the Lord and head of House Plumm during the reign of King Aegon IV Targaryen. He married the king's cousin, Princess Elaena Targaryen.[2]

History

Ossifer was a wealthy but aged man when he wed Princess Elaena Targaryen in 176 AC. He is said to have died during the bedding, after seeing his wife naked for the first time.[1] Elaena became pregnant, and gave birth to a child, Viserys Plumm. However, rumors later suggested that Lord Ossifer had died before he was able to consummate the marriage, and that the child instead had been fathered by King Aegon IV Targaryen.[1][3] The claim that Ossifer fathered a child after his death led to the saying that he had had "a cock six feet long".[2][4]

Regardless of his true paternity, Viserys Plumm inherited Ossifer's lands and titles.[5]

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

When Daenerys Targaryen's dragon Viserion acts friendly with Brown Ben Plumm, commander of the Second Sons, he tells her it is because he has "a drop of the dragon blood", which startles her. Ben says that his Plumm ancestor was a lord who married "a dragon princess", and was famous throughout the land, due to having a six-foot-long penis.[2]

A Feast for Crows

When Ser Jaime Lannister tells Queen Cersei Lannister that there is no worry that her son King Tommen I Baratheon could consummate his marriage with Margaery Tyrell, as Tommen is "much too young", Cersei replies that Ossifer Plumm "was much too dead", but that didn't stop him from fathering a child. She intends to explain that any child of Margaery's could be recognized as being fathered by Tommen, even if it was physically impossible for him to impregnate her. However, Jaime becomes confused, not recognizing Ossifer's name, so Cersei tells Jaime to forget him and simply guard Tommen until sunrise.[3]

A Dance with Dragons

Tyrion Lannister encounters Brown Ben Plumm, and speculates he is descended from a younger son of Viserys Plumm. He guesses that Daenerys Targaryen's dragons were fond of Ben, which amuses Ben as it is true, and that he knows why. When Ben says his mother said his father had "a drop of dragon blood", Tyrion replies, "Two drops. That, or a cock six foot long",[4] suggesting that Tyrion believes the rumors about Ossifer's posthumous child being fathered by Aegon IV Targaryen.

Quotes

There was some old Plumm in the Sunset Kingdoms who wed a dragon princess. My grandmama told me the tale. He lived in King Aegon's day.[2]

This old Plumm was a lord, though, must have been a famous fellow in his day, the talk of all the land. The thing was, begging your royal pardon, he had himself a cock six foot long.[2]

Jaime: There can be no danger of a consummation. Tommen is much too young.
Cersei: And Ossifer Plumm was much too dead, but that did not stop him fathering a child, did it?[3]
