A Clash of Kings
With his sons held hostage by Cersei Lannister he is the only Tyrell bannerman who does not declare for Renly Baratheon for fear of his sons' lives.
When Renly was slain, Littlefinger suggested they send one of Paxter's sons back to him as a gesture of good will. In addition Paxter would not want Stannis Baratheon as a King considering Paxter besieged him at Storm's End during the War of the Usurper. He participated in the Battle of the Blackwater, when House Tyrell joined with House Lannister to smash the army of Stannis Baratheon.[2]
A Storm of Swords
At King Joffrey I's wedding, Lord Paxter gave him a scale model of a ship that would be named after the king that was being built on the Arbor.[3] Lord Paxter was called as a witness for the prosecution in the trial of Tyrion Lannister for the death of King Joffrey. He told of how he heard Tyrion threaten the king.[4]
A Feast for Crows
Lord Paxter attended the wedding of King Tommen I and Margaery Tyrell.[5]
A Dance with Dragons
After the arrest of Queen Cersei by the Faith of the Seven, Lord Paxter was given a seat at the small council and made Master of Ships and Grand Admiral by Ser Kevan Lannister, the new Lord Regent.
