Pyat, Xaro Xhoan Daxos, and Quaithe are representatives of Qarth who accompany Jhogo back to Vaes Tolorro after he was sent by Daenerys Targaryen to discover what lies near the abandoned city.[1] He escorts Daenerys to Qarth where he tries to convince her to come with him and visit the House of the Undying.[2]

When Dany arrives at the House of the Undying, accompanied by Ser Jorah Mormont, her bloodriders, and Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Pyat Pree counsels her on the rules of entering the palace of the warlocks. Upon exiting the House of the Undying after Drogon burns the Undying Ones, Dany finds Pyat gibbering in some unknown tongue and hopping from one foot to the other. Pyat draws a knife and advances on Dany, at which point Jhogo and Rakharo intercept and disarm him.[3]

Xaro informs Daenerys that Pyat is gathering the remaining warlocks against her.[4]

A Storm of Swords

Aboard the Balerion Daenerys remembers that Pyat had sent a Sorrowful Man after her to avenge the Undying she had burned in their House of Dust.[5]

A Feast for Crows

Euron Greyjoy, King of the Isles and the North, tells his brother Victarion he had captured four warlocks on a galleas from Qarth. Euron killed one for threatening him and then fed him to the remaining warlocks. The surviving warlocks are reportedly coaching Euron in black magic.[6]

According to a semi-canon source, Pree is among the hostage warlocks,[7] and their dragon horn was also taken from them by Euron.[8]

A Dance with Dragons

Xaro informs Daenerys, now Queen of Mereen, that she had not been gone a fortnight when Pyat set out from Qarth with three of his fellow warlocks to seek her in Pentos, in order to seek revenge on her for the burning of the House of the Undying.[9]
