History

Rast was sentenced to the Wall for being a rapist.[1]

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Rast is one the three boys who are ordered by Ser Alliser Thorne to fight Jon Snow when Jon takes the side of Samwell Tarly during training. Jon defeats them with the help of Pyp and Grenn.[1] When Jon asks his fellow recruits to refrain from fighting Sam, all agree except Rast. The next night the boys go to Rast's cell and Jon's direwolf, Ghost, nips at Rast's throat with his fangs. The next day Rast claims he cut himself shaving, but he refuses to harm Sam.[1]

A Storm of Swords

Still in training,[3] Rast is among the men that Bowen Marsh leaves behind to defend Castle Black. He dies when a Thenn shoves a spear into him.[4]

Quotes
