History
Raymun's three older brothers all died fighting for the Targaryens in the Battle of the Trident.[2] Under Ser Raymun, House Darry secretly kept its loyalty to the Targaryens.[3]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Ser Raymun is present at Darry when Arya Stark is found and brought before King Robert Baratheon for punishment after the attack on Prince Joffrey Baratheon.[2] Later, he is sent to King's Landing by Lord Hoster Tully, along with Ser Marq Piper, to receive the king's permission to hunt down Ser Gregor Clegane, who had been ravaging their lands. Lord Eddard Stark, the Hand of the King, agrees and sends a party, which includes Raymun, to capture Gregor.[4] He is later killed during an ambush set by Gregor at the Battle at the Mummer's Ford.[5] He is succeeded by his son, Lyman.[6]
A Storm of Swords
Harwin tells Arya about the Mummer's Ford and describes the death of Raymun at the hands of Gregor.[7]
When the brotherhood without banners stages a trial for Sandor Clegane, Raymun is one of the people for whose death the Hound is held responsible. Sandor dismisses the allegation, insisting that the actions of his brother should not be held against him.[8]
A Feast for Crows
When Ser Jaime Lannister, on his way to ending the Siege of Riverrun, visits Castle Darry, now seat of his cousin Lancel, he remembers with amusement how, before a visit by King Robert, Raymun had tapestries with the portraits of the Targaryen kings removed to conceal the ongoing allegiance of House Darry with the Targaryens. He also recalls how he and Cersei Lannister had sex in Raymun's bed while Robert was passed out.[3]
