Ser Raymun Fossoway was a knight and the founder of House Fossoway of New Barrel in 209 AC.
Appearance and Character
Raymun was stocky, with a square face and a pug nose. He had short wooly hair and an engaging smile.[1]
Raymun was more honorable than his cousin, Ser Steffon Fossoway.
Raymun's shield initially bore the red apple of the Fossoways, but he painted it green after receiving knighthood.[1]
History
Raymun attended the tourney at Ashford Meadow as the squire of Ser Steffon Fossoway, his older cousin. Raymun befriended Ser Duncan the Tall during the tourney.[1]
After Steffon's betrayal of Duncan, to whom he had pledged his sword in the coming trial of seven, Raymun took his cousin's place. When Duncan hesitated in honoring Raymun's request to be knighted, Ser Lyonel Baratheon intervened and granted knighthood on the youth. To avoid confusion, Raymund repainted the red apple on his shield green. During the trial he fought his cousin, matching Steffon blow for blow.[1]
House Fossoway of New Barrel was eventually recognized as a cadet branch of House Fossoway of Cider Hall.[2]

I needed to make a small change to my sigil, lest I be mistaken for my dishonorable cousin. I fear I am still not ripe ... but better green than wormy, eh?[1]
