Roderick Blackwood was a Lord of Raventree Hall and head of House Blackwood.

History

Roderick led the Blackwoods when Humfrey I Teague was King of the Rivers and the Hills. When Humfrey began to repress worship of the old gods, Roderick rose in rebellion, supported by House Vance of Atranta and House Tully of Riverrun. Nearly defeated by Humfrey and the Faith Militant, Roderick sought the aid of the Storm King Arlan III Durrandon, who had married one of Roderick's daughters. Arlan intended to restore the riverlands to House Blackwood, but Roderick was slain in battle.[1]

After the Teagues were all killed in the Battle of Six Kings, Roderick's heir was a boy of only eight and Arlan distrusted Roderick's brothers. The river lords rejected Arlan's suggestion of having Roderick's eldest child, Shiera Blackwood, rule the riverlands with Arlan's son by her side. Arlan then decided to add the riverlands to the realm of the Storm Kings.[1]
