Ser Samwell Rivers was a knight and a natural son of Lord Tommen Tully of Riverrun.
History
When Harwyn Hoare, King of the Iron Islands, invaded the Riverlands, Ser Samwell assembled a small host and faced King Harwyn on the Tumblestone. Samwell's lines shattered when the Hardhand charged. Hundreds drowned attempting to flee, while Rivers was hacked in two, so that half of his body might be delivered to each of his parents.[1]
