The Siege of Raventree is one of the closing battles of the War of the Five Kings in the Riverlands.
Prelude
After the Red Wedding, Tywin Lannister persuades Lord Jonos Bracken to bend the knee and promises him that the lands of the Blackwoods would be given to Stone Hedge if they subdue Raventree Hall. Jonos only sides with the Lannisters because the Blackwoods stay loyal to King Robb Stark.
Siege
The rivalry between Blackwood and Bracken goes back thousands of years so neither side asks or offers quarter. To resolve the conflict, Ser Jaime Lannister arrives to accept Lord Tytos Blackwood's surrender, since Blackwood would never surrender to Bracken. Jaime notices ruined fields and buildings in Blackwood Vale, the result of Lord Tywin's campaign. While there had been skirmishes at the start of the siege, it developed into a stalemate. Jonos lacks siege towers, battering rams, and catapults, preferring instead to starve out Tytos.[1]
Aftermath
Lord Blackwood forfeits some lands to House Bracken and has to give Jaime his son, Hoster Blackwood, as a hostage. The surrender of Raventree represents the last remnant of Robb Stark's brief Riverlands kingdom and now the entire nobility of the Riverlands have submitted to the Iron Throne.
