"Six Maids in a Pool" is a song about the legend of Florian watching Jonquil and her sisters bathe in a pool of water.[1]

When Jaime Lannister, Brienne of Tarth, and Ser Cleos Frey pass through Maidenpool, they espy Jonquil's Pool from which the town took its name. Jaime begins singing, but Brienne tells him to be quiet.[1]

Tom of Sevenstreams sings "Six Maids in a Pool" at the Peach in Stoney Sept.[2]

A Feast for Crows

When she thinks of returning to Maidenpool, Brienne recalls that Jaime had laughed when she told him to stop singing.[3]


Brienne: What are you doing?
Jaime: Singing. 'Six Maids in a Pool,' I'm sure you've heard it. And shy little maids they were, too. Rather like you. Though somewhat prettier, I'll warrant.[1]
