Song of the Sea: How the Lands Were Severed is a book written by Archmaester Cassander. In the book, Cassander argues that the Arm of Dorne was not shattered by greenseers, but rather covered by the Song of the Sea, a slow rising of the waters caused by a series of long, hot summers and short, warm winters that melted the ice in the frozen lands north of the Shivering Sea.[1]
