Starfall is a castle in Dorne and is the ancestral seat of House Dayne.[1] It is located in the western Red Mountains on an island[2] in the Torentine where it pours into the Summer Sea.[3][4] Starfall, which includes a tower called the Palestone Sword,[5] guards the western arm of Dorne.[6] Northeast of Starfall is High Hermitage, the seat of a Dayne cadet branch.
History
Prince Oberyn Martell and Princess Elia Martell visited Starfall on their way to Casterly Rock where their mother was to broker their marriage to the Lannister twins, Cersei and Jaime.[7] Ashara Dayne threw herself from the Palestone Sword tower at Starfall, after Eddard Stark returned Dawn, the sword of her brother Ser Arthur, who perished in the fight at the Tower of Joy.
