Storming of Starpike
|Storming of Starpike|
|Place||Starpike in the Reach|
|Result||capture of the castle|
House Peake of Starpike, supporters of the Blackfyre Pretenders, rose in rebellion against House Targaryen. King Maekar I Targaryen led a host to the Dornish Marches to suppress the rebellious Lord Peake.
While leading the attack against the gates of Starpike, King Maekar died when a rock dropped from the castle's battlements crushed his crowned helm. Tywald Lannister, the heir to Casterly Rock and the squire of Lord Robert Reyne, was mortally wounded shortly after while fighting through the gates. Prince Aegon Targaryen, Maekar's youngest son, knighted Tywald before the youth died in the arms of Tion Lannister, Tywald's twin and Aegon's squire. Robert, Lord of Castamere, was also killed during the fighting.
