I wonder if there isn't a House Long in the North and one in the Reach. Do we really believe Ser Gareth Long and Ser Lucifer Long both belong to the House Long from the North which is mentioned having existed thousands of years ago.--Thomaerys Velaryon 12:59, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Gareth Long could simply have been a third son or something and gone to the reach.
Remember in a AGOT the master-at-arms in king’s landing was Aron Santagar and he was dornish. There could be two house longs or simply Gareth long could simply have been a lesser son trying to find his own way- Arek
