Topic of this song.

It seems to me that the information in this article isn't entirely accurate.

In Tyrion VIII, ASOS a song called "The Dance of the Dragons" is described as "A haunting ballad of two dying lovers amidst the Doom of Valyria".

In Eddard VII, AGOT a song called "Dance of the Dragons" is described as "a complex round of interwoven ballads".

Could it be that these are two different songs, one about the doom and one about the civil war? Or does the "round of interwoven ballads" cover both topics? Or is the song just about the doom, and not about the civil war?

I think they are meant to be the same song. Eddard does not mention the topic of the song, only the title. Tyrion notes how the song should be sung by two singers (one male, one female), so perhaps because the song was likely performed in its proper interpretation (performed by multiple singers instead of one), Eddard described is as "interwoven ballads", while Tyrion, who hears only the interpretation made by one singer covering all parts of the song, describes it in singular form?
So since Eddard does not mention a topic for the song, based on Tyrion's description, I would conclude that the song is about two lovers during the Doom of Valyria only. --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 22:10, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
