Featured Article Criteria

And article must be:

  • Be well-written, complete and illustrated if possible.
  • Be referenced with all available sources and appearances.
  • Be written from a neutral point of view. Restrict yourself to the text and do not interpretate the possible emotions of the character.
  • Follow the Manual of Style and Layout guide

Nominating a Featured Article

Any member of the wiki can nominate an article for featured status. But before you do, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes such as typos. If they seem shipshape, compare the nominated articles to the criteria listed above. Then, if it conforms to all the point, add it to the Tardis:Feature Article nominations under a three-bar (===) heading and leave a note as to why you submitted it with your signature following. Users can nominate as many articles to be featured as they wish, however, any articles that do not meet the Feature Article criteria will be removed.

Article Feedback

Feedback should be posted under the heading of a nomination. Your comment should be proceeded by a emboldened note, such as Support, Oppose, or a specific issue like Continuity issues that is preventing it from being a Feature Article. Remember to sign these comments. Once addressed, a point should have a further note explaining how the issue has been solved.

This section is not to be used to discuss whether you like or dislike an article, only to suggest improvements or support the article's nomination. Replies to each comment can then follow.

Feature Article nominations

If you thinks an article qualifies as feature article, add a nomination to the list bellow. When it adhere to all the points laid out above and there are another two user supporting it. It will be added to the list of articles queued to be featured on the main page.

Though the article is great, should we feature two Lannisters in a row? May be better to mix it up.   Hooper   raven    contribs    email   18:49, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Tyrion is second because at the time it was the only other article I was happy with, I worked on Daenerys later. So if you wish we can mix them up. (Sorry for not posting sooner, I missed the edit) --Mor 14:16, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Taken the decision to update and place Tyrion as the new featured article, after writing out the summary text. Thanks for the hard work Mor! I'm going to try and urge folks to write up some summaries for other POV characters, and perhaps some of our better historical or location articles. --Ran 13:11, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

  • Arya Stark, and why has Jamie's article been featured for half a year? I would think it should change at least once a month. Matt 2108 02:01, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Because most people felt that other articles were not good enough. Even for the Tyrion article there was no consensus. My suggestion is still Tyrion. The Arya article is not bad but it is missing some references and her attributes are mentioned twice. Also I think we should include how she appears in the series.Scafloc 15:54, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Another point: I think the part of the article that is dedicated about her kills and aliases is too prominent. These are basically lists. I have no problem that the information is included but would like to give it a less prominent place. How about if we reformat the lists to a table or to a few comment and leave out the description. The people who are killed have their own page so additional information can go there. I'd like to keep the image of the killing of the Tickler; this explains what her experiences did to her.Scafloc 17:01, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
I believe it was half a year since I created one of those pages and that it was featured for much longer and ;) Yes I have been trying to jump start the Featured article section for a long while. Unfortunately other things always got in the way, besides with my poor enligsh, I cant suggest with good consistence more articles I have worked on until I seen someone else go over it. So guys please suggest more good articles, so we can work together on bringing them to feature status and get this thing rolling --Mor 14:16, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

It has several references missing. You should work on that. Winterz 15:42, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Again, missing references. Also, the image with Arya and the bird has an incorrect caption. Winterz 15:44, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Posting a Feature article

When posting a Feature Article to the main page a short summary must be written to summarise the Feature Article in order to lead readers to the full article. The previous Feature Article will be added to the 'Previously Featured Article' list on the main page.

To change the article showcased on the main page, Click here and simply change this line {{:Feature article/#}} with # being the number of your article. Once the new article is showcased on the main page, update the end date of the previous FA and add the new one to the below list.
