A Dance with Dragons

Hobb gathers with two score other black brothers near the gate of Castle Black after word spreads that the heads of three rangers have been found impaled on spikes on the other side of the Wall. Lord Commander Jon Snow verifies that Jack Bulwer, Hairy Hal, and Garth Greyfeather have been slain by the Weeper. A friend of Garth's, Alf of Runnymudd, breaks down at the news, and Hobb is ordered by Jon to get Alf to bed and give him mulled wine.[3]
