When Longspear Ryk comes to 'steal' Torwynd's sister, Munda, Torwynd does not fight hard to stop him.[1]
A Dance with Dragons
Tormund reveals to Jon Snow, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, that Torwynd died a few days after the battle beneath the Wall from the cold and rose as a wight, after which Tormund had to slay him.[3]
