After refusing to surrender to Jonos Bracken in spite of being under siege, he surrenders to Jaime Lannister, giving up some land to Lord Bracken and sending some gold and silver to the Iron Throne and sending his son Hoster with Jaime as a hostage. During the parley between himself and Jaime, Tytos states that Lord Walder Frey's fourth wife Alyssa was a Blackwood, but kinship and guest right count for little at the Twins. His son Lucas Blackwood was slain as a guest at the Red Wedding, and Tytos requests to Jaime that his son's bones be returned so he can see him decently buried, which Jaime agrees to. When departing Raventree, Jaime Lannister thinks Blackwood had more honor in him then Jonos Bracken.
