Ser Tywald Lannister was a knight of House Lannister, the eldest son and heir of Lord Gerold Lannister and Lady Rohanne Webber,[2] and the twin of Tion Lannister.[2]

History

Tywald was the eldest son of Lord Gerold Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock, and Lady Rohanne Webber, his second wife. In his youth, Tywald was betrothed to Ellyn Reyne. He squired to Lord Robert Reyne of Castamere, Ellyn's father.

Fourth Blackfyre Rebellion

During the Peake Uprising in 233 AC, he fought on the side of King Maekar I Targaryen. During the battle, he was wounded by a spear. Prince Aegon Targaryen knighted the squire, while Tywald laid dying in his twin brother's arms.[3] According to semi-canon sources, Tywald asked his brother to “take care of Lady Ellyn” with his final words. This would later cause Lord Gerold to agree to a betrothal between Tywald's twin Tion, and Lady Ellyn.[4]

Notes:
  1. In 298 AC, it has been roughly ninety years ago since Gowen and Tya were wed, placing their marriage around 208 AC. Therefore Tya was a contemporary to Lords Damon (d.210 AC) and Tybolt (d.212 AC).
