Originally I was just going to list all the places on the maps and consider them like another appendix because I was unsure about the copyright status of the maps. I like your idea of the non-copyright maps but I have to admit that I have no idea how to make or edit those. That being said, something like the fan art maps on Westeros would be great. A map where you can see all the sites on one map because even the maps of the south and north change from book to book, places are dropped, names are added. That's why I was adding a reference to each map from each book. Mainly because the map of the north in AFFC has a bunch of names that are not on the AGOT map.

On the other hand, if we are going to put spoiler-like tags on each book section in articles, should the maps have the same progression? Or should there just be one map with everything on it? In the meantime while we make our own maps if that's what we want to do, are the maps fair-use? I assumed since they weren't considered publicity material they wouldn't be available. The Pale Griffin 17:23, 18 March 2011 (CDT)

Thanks. I kinda knew you weren't saying that about me, it was more directed at the people who complained without contributing. I thought it was unfair of them to be piling on you after you had made the effort of putting those pictures up. I also thought it unfair that they assumed you would change it since you had put the first set of pictures up. That's why I offered to help, instead of dumping all that work on you. Also, the cynical part of me knew that those same people who had been complaining had never contributed, so I knew they weren't going to do anything. Thanks for doing the stuff you do on the project. Anyone like me can add the info. The templates and the pictures, that's the harder stuff. Just wanted to say I appreciate it.(The Pale Griffin 18:16, 14 June 2011 (CDT))

Thanks for your kind words on the new coats of arms. I'm reaching my limits a bit with the skills and software I have. Anything Rayonne is beyond me. As is stuff like two-headed pelicans! Plus some of GRRM's descriptions do not make sense either! --Crackclaw 18:20, 16 August 2011 (CDT)

Hi, I am Scafloc.

I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Great idea to have a Wiki about A Song of Ice and Fire! I have worked on some of the ASOIF pages on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is great but for fans there is not enough detail (not should there be because too much detail may scare of other users of Wikipedia).

Daeryssa

Three reasons why I made Daeryssa a Targaryen. One Serwyn is a Mirror-shield, a knight of the Kingsguard. They were founded by the Targaryens. Two the spelling of her name is consistent with the spelling of those of Valyrian descent. Her title princess eliminates the other valyrian houses, Baratheon, Qoherys and Velaryon. I`m also sure that somewhere, Martin said she was Targaryen, I just have not found that link yet.

Shields

Hi. Great work on all the coats of arms you have done. I'd like to fill in a few gaps. Obviously the design studio program has its limitations, but I have done some shields in another program. The only thing is, the shield shape is slightly different to the ones you have done. Does that matter? --Crackclaw 22:29, 15 November 2010 (CST)

Maps

Originally I was just going to list all the places on the maps and consider them like another appendix because I was unsure about the copyright status of the maps. I like your idea of the non-copyright maps but I have to admit that I have no idea how to make or edit those. That being said, something like the fan art maps on Westeros would be great. On the other hand, if we are going to put spoiler-like tags on each book section in articles, should the maps have the same progression? Or should there just be one map with everything on it? In the meantime while we make our own maps if that's what we want to do, are the maps fair-use? It's my understanding that as long as the maps is the "subject for commentary in the article" there is no problem of using the original maps, which means that we can definitively use it for all those articles.
