Hi there, I'm Ran, the fellow who runs Westeros.org. Saw your contributions and just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge with other fans of the series! --Ran 22:01, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

thanks

thank you! I'm fumbling along :)

Wine and foods

I believe that the official site of those arthurs of the A Feast of Ice and Fire, might be useful for you ;) Though careful, they have some in-house non canon inventions --Mor 19:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you! I had no idea this book was coming out. I'll take a look at the website. No honey-spiced locusts for me though, yuck :)

Slavery

Why could you think of that yesterday :) its a great idea for an article that I hope to contribute to later on and deserves a place on the culture portal, but with the stupid layout there, I wouldnt be able to fit it in until the next update... --Mor 04:00, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Glad you like it. Would appreciate any contributions on this subject, it’s quite an involved one!

Regarding Daenerys: What about arranged marriage? while in dany case it is more blunt and one sided than Cersei marriage to Robert, Sansa to Tyrion or ned to his dead brother bride, in all cases those marriages were arranged for certain gain/benefit of their houses. Also I am not sure that Dany serves as a good example of typical slave in Essos, where people are bread and trained into slavery and has no rights at all, even over their own life --Mor 20:02, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

I take your point; I had the same thoughts also have wondered about arranged marriages like Sansa’s etc. However the thing is is that the word “arranged” is not used for Dany, it’s “sold”. I am unsure of what GRRM intended, perhaps he leaves the reader to decide. I (personally) thought she was enslaved. I was thinking of a paragraph on Dany’s emancipation of the salves so I could mention the fact that she was sold and its influence on her there instead. I will take it out of where I have it since it may be controversial,

Stub

Thanks for helping with stub on the Great Sept of Baelor, with your refernces its is much easier to put in place. --Mor 05:02, 15 May 2012 (UTC) thanks, I'll try to have a look for a bit more history and detail on the sept

Tywin

Shouldn't Tywin be a disambiguation page? Besides Tywin Lannister, the novels mention Tywin Frey and Tywin Frey (son of Raymund). --Dimadick 20:03, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Palanquins et al.

Rather than just hitting 'rollback' all day on articles perhaps we can come to a consensus. With the palanquin article I tried to keep references that showed the diversity of the item while removing extraneous material like references to every individual time Dany rode in a palanquin. Rhaena Targaryen

Hi Melanie! I'm Rhaena Targaryen, admin of the wiki in spanish about ASOIAF, the Hielo y Fuego Wiki. I noticed that you changed the page Rhaena Targaryen (disambiguation), mentioning that there are four, and not three, women called Rhaena Targaryen. As I understand, two of the women listed are the same person: Rhaena Targaryen (daughter of Aenys I) and Rhaena Targaryen (sister of Jaehaerys I). As I'm not a current editor in this wiki, I didn't want to change anything or delete a page, so I tell you because I've seen you are a very frecuent editor. Thanks for your time! Best regards, --Rhaena Targaryen 18:43, 20 December 2013 (UTC) (and yes, my nickname is just a coincidence xD)
