House Category

Wait, don't add any more house pages to categories. I noticed that you decided to create for each house a category and add there its vassal houses. I can do that for you for all houses together(Only house entries).--Mor 16:25, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Every house has Template:Noble House, with a 'Overlord' variable, I can adjust the the template, to auto add it its own category and its overlord category. Separating the house and the vassal houses from the usual characters there, thus helping you out in this project you started. --Mor 16:29, 29 March 2012 (UTC) Mind you it will not be perfect, the new categories would still need to be linked and I cant really do it for assets(like Clegane's Keep). Anyway, if you interested and/or want some specific adjustment just drop me a message, it would take me a couple of minutes todo.--Mor 16:32, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Subcategories

I noticed you added some of the "Great Bastards" to the main "House Targaryen" category. You don't have to. "Category: Great Bastards" works as as a subcategory to "Category: house Targaryen". --Dimadick 17:12, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Category house Fowler

It was not possible to move the cayegory page but deleting the old one and creating a new category page leads to the same result. Thanks for the notice,Scafloc 15:02, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

For the Wells houses I made House Wells a disambiguation page and made separate pages for each house with the region between parentheses to make it clear that the region is not part of the name. Also made separate categories for each again with the region between parentheses. Thanks again! Scafloc 20:16, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Moving articles

Hi I noticed you moved some articles and created new ones. For instance Jenny of Oldstones. However this the title of this article is incorrect. The article should name should be the name of the character without titles and aliases. This is inline with the standards of wikipedia which we decided to follow. The adding of "(Oldstones)" was only done to make a distinction with other characters called Jenny. As a redirect will be left with the original title this not a big point but it is something to keep in mind before deciding to move other pages. If you want to propose a new article name policy could you do so on the forum? Regards,Scafloc 18:58, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Well, Wikipedia's standard naming policy is WP:COMMONNAME, by which articles are titled with the subject's most common, recognizable name. Jenny, most commonly known as "Jenny of Oldstones", should therefore fall under that title, not "Jenny (Oldstones)". When in doubt, I would expect articles to match GRRM's listing in the appendices (although those have occasional mistakes). Nittanian 19:07, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
The part "of Oldstones" is not a part of her name. So it should not be included. Again if you do not agree feel free to discuss it on the board.Scafloc 20:32, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Details

Why did you remove the "excess" detail? This wikia is about detail. Lwaxanadeanna 18:39, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Small Council

Hi, I noticed you deleted the [[:Category:Members of the Small council]] and created a new category: Category:Members of the small council. However "Small" as well as "Council" are parts of the name so it should be with a capitical. See for instance Privy Council of the United Kingdom, Supreme Court of the United States or White House; the adjective and the noun are part of the name and thus are with a capital. Scafloc 15:03, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

George R. R. Martin does not capitalize "small council" in his books. It is a descriptive name, not a formal, capitalized title. For instance, from A Game of Thrones-Chapter 20: "And so Ned had come striding into the council chambers, bone-tired and dressed in borrowed clothing, to find four members of the small council waiting for him." Or from A Clash of Kings-Chapter 17: "Within three years of his coming to court, he was master of coin and a member of the small council, and today the crown's revenues were ten times what they had been under his beleaguered predecessor ..." World

Hi, you're a lot more experienced than I am. Please do not hesitate to point out anything I should refine or rework in my writing now that we're able to add World stuff. --The Dragon Demands 03:28, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

House Arryn

Hey Nittanian, can I ask you why you took apart the history of House Arryn, and even leaving out a lot of info that was in there? Dade 12:32, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

"masterly" Houses

Wait...there's no such thing as a "masterly" House? That always confused me when I saw it on here. Why was it here in the first place?--The Dragon Demands (talk) 16:07, 23 June 2015 (CDT)

Comes from Tallharts and Glovers bearing "Master of" titles. It would also help you understand why the Greatjon, a High Lord, is insulted when Robb tells him Galbart Glover will command the vanguard.--Gonzalo (talk) 12:26, 17 July 2015 (CDT)
That's a common misconception, actually. "And when Lord Umber, who was called the Greatjon by his men and stood as tall as Hodor and twice as wide, threatened to take his forces home if he was placed behind the Hornwoods or the Cerwyns in the order of march, Robb told him he was welcome to do so. "And when we are done with the Lannisters," he promised, scratching Grey Wind behind the ear, "we will march back north, root you out of your keep, and hang you for an oathbreaker." The Glovers and Tallharts being of a different rank is still conjecture at this point. Nittanian (talk) 13:23, 17 July 2015 (CDT)
