Predecessor and Successor

Hello Potsk,

I've seen you added a predecessor and successor module on the infobox for characters. I'm not opposed to it but I'm not a fan of the "eventually X succeed Y" stuff. I think we should use these modules for direct successions only. Have a good day. --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 12:53, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

It is the most effective use for navigational purposes. --Potsk (talk) 12:55, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
I absolutely agree with Thomaerys. It is confusing and "eventual predecessor" does not make any sense in my opinion. There are navigation boxes at the bottom of the page for navigational purposes. It is better to have a discussion about things like that with other editors before changing it on your own. The Wondering Wolf (talk) 13:09, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
Alright then, go ahead and remove them. --Potsk (talk) 06:53, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Images in infobox

Potsk please see the the post on the use of images from shows https://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?/topic/34958-the-asoiaf-wiki-thread/&do=findComment&comment=8726606 In short the primary image should be book accurate show images are to be used only for a show subsection. This is why i removed the Mysaria image --Direpupy(talk)

Dowager queen

I do not agree that the title dowager queen makes the title queen in the infobox superfluous the are not the same title and a dowager has different rights and responsibilities, at least in the real world. Since they are two separate titles the should in my opinion be listed separately. -- Direpupy(talk)

Its a sum up of the titels used and held by the person which should be comprehensive, so omitting a title makes the list pointless. If we follow your reasoning then any prince of dragonstone who became king should also not have prince of dragonstone among there titels, but we list that for every single one of them because its a list of all titels held and used. -- Direpupy(talk)

tv images

To answer your question, the verdict was primary image (the one in the infobox) is to be bookbased only, if there is no bookbased image then no image should be used until there is a bookbased image. Tv image can be used lower down in a page but preverably they are only used in tv show page or a tv show subsection on a book page. The reasoning for this is that GRRM's description should be leading and the tv show is not bookcanon that includes the way the carakters look and also to prevent confusion on how a carakter looks.

Rickon/Rickard Stark

I know the captions for the trailer says "Rickard Stark" but personally I only hear "Rickon Stark" not "Rickard Stark". I think the character will keep its book name in House of the Dragon and there is simply a little mistake in the captions. What do you think ? --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 20:54, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

I'm not sure. The Dragon Demands actually posted an outline of leaks on the GoT wiki a while back, where he said the scene where Rhaenyra is named Princess of Dragonstone would have characters such as Boremund Baratheon and "Rickard Stark", the latter of whom is the renamed Rickon Stark. Seems too much of a coincidence that the official subtitles would also put "Rickard" as a typo? Could just be his thick accent making it sound like "Rickon." It even took me a while to figure out he was saying "named heir" and not "nameday" Potsk (talk) 06:39, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
I have not seen this leak outline you are talking about, I'll look it up if you can provid me a link. That being said it is not in the habit of the Wiki to edit stuff coming from leaks information. Listening to the trailer again in slow motion, the actor clearly says "Rickon", I'll trust the official trailer over leak information anyday. If new information comes to light in the future we can edit the article again but for now I'm deleting the "Rickard" sentence to avoid confusion. --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 15:40, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
Except this is not coming from leaks... it's coming from the official captions. The leak merely supports it. https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:House_of_the_Dragon:_Season_1/Outline --Potsk (talk) 15:50, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
History of Westeros checked with the producers, and it is indeed Rickon Stark as per the books, the captions were in error.[1] --Mindset (talk) 21:50, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Is there anything from an actual producer? I can't change it over on the GoT wiki based on hearsay. Potsk (talk) 23:05, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
